Buy a man a guitar and he’ll want to start a band
My wife bought me a guitar for my birthday yesterday. Totally stoked and surprised, so naturally the first thing that ran through my head was…
“What would my band be called?”
My wife is far too clever and said
“Stop thinking about who to ask to drum in your band”
HOW DOES SHE DO THAT?
In practical terms, I’ve got to learn how to play the guitar first!
Then there will be a band…
Leaving the Liberty Stadium on the 31st of December 2011 I felt disappointed. We’d drawn 1-1 and I was annoyed. I should not have been but I was. I had a long drive to visit family for New Year’s celebrations and in the car I had pretty much re-kicked every single ball of that game. But this was more about how far Tottenham have come rather than my disappointment.
I grew up with my Grandad and Dad re-telling me of their stories of Tottenham back in the day and yes sure we have had our moments through my lifetime but here right now is where it is at. We’re 3rd in the table… THIRD!
The result at Swansea was a fair result, actually we could have lost it as they created many chances and their home record has been fantastic so far this season. So there was I annoyed at getting a point away from home which a few years ago I would have bitten your arm off for! I have never this season thought that we could win the league… until my son asked me “Do you think we’ll win it Dad?” and I wanted to answer “Yes we bloody well could do it” but I decided for the more parental “Sure we can!”.
Of course we bloody well could and for the first time in a long time other teams are wary of us and another thing, people enjoy watching Tottenham play. I know we don’t have the money that City has or the experience with grinding out results like United do but maybe what we have is the sheer guts to just go out there and do things our way.
Just because so called pundits think we will f*** this up does not mean that we will. Tonight sees us play our game in hand, we win it and we go level on points with United and 3 points off City.
It has been quite the season already and I have not even mentioned yet about Arsenal being below us in the table. Oh wait I just did…
It is a great time to be a Spurs supporter and it’s been a bloody long wait for some of us. Enjoy the ride!
